Workshop on Organic Growing of Herbs

The NTG organic farming coordinator Vladislav Popov was the keynote speaker at the seminar “The herbs as an alternative for the tobacco growing” which took place on November 27 in the village of Stambolovo. NTG was a co-organizer of the seminar together with the National Service for Agricultural Advisory (territorial district office - Haskovo ) and the Agricultural University - Plovdiv.

More than 40 people took part in the seminar. Ass. Prof. Popov made three presentations. They were followed by lively discussions on the methods and practices of organic farming of medicinal plants (herbs) and oil-bearing plants, methods for organic plant protection, requirements for certification of organic farms, subsidizing organic farmers growing herbs, measures for support the organic agriculture in the new Program period 2014-2020 and more.
