Breath of Spring in the Eastern Rhodopes

The first crocuses started blossoming in the protected site "Momina Skala” (Maiden Rock) near Madzharovo in the Eastern Rhodopes, as New Thracian Gold biodiversity expert Stefan Avramov informs end of January. Although, the winter is in full swing  with cold and snow, the breath of spring is already flowing.

This winter has been mild so far and the wild animals in the area have a much easier time than previous years. NTG team does not expect long snowfalls in February.
