Online Information on Eco Tourism in Kardzhali

Regional Forestry Directorate (RFD) - Kardzhali is planning to install three information kiosks, 32 inch monitors of the type touch screen that give to residents and tourists in the town information about the eco tourism opportunities in the region.

This will be done within a project for promoting the eco tourism in which RFD-Kardzhali works in partnership with the Greek municipality Avdera and the Association Business Information and Consulting Centre - Sandanski. The project is funding by the European Regional Development Fund and gets co-financing from the countries in the European Territorial Cooperation “Greece - Bulgaria 2007-2013”. The project aims to promote the eco tourism and to create an integrated eco tourism destination between Bulgaria and Greece.

Recently, 66 tourist sites in Kardzhali District were presented at an information forum in the town of Sandanski. The most famous are Perperikon, Utroba Cave, Tatul, Monyak, Ustra.

The reserves "Chamlaka" in Dzhebel area, "Borovets" in Momchilgrad area, "Kazalcherpa" in Chernoochene area and "Vulchi Dol" in Krumovgrad are and the protected sites Yumruk Skala, Gyumyurdzinski Snezhnik, Ribino and Oreshari are still little known by the tourists. The game breeding station "Studen Kladenets" and the state hunting reserve "Zhenda" offers hinting tourism, but also photo tourism.
