New Opportunities for Tourism in “Studen Kladenets” Reserve
New opportunities for ecotourism in the "Studen Kladenets" Reserve are available after the opening of the new observation lodge on October 6th..
The lodge is built of stone and wood in a traditional Bulgarian style and is fully financed by the National Association of Hunters and Anglers "Union of Hunters and Anglers in Bulgaria" (NLRS-SLRB). The new lodge will also be available for Bulgarian and foreign tourists who want to observe the rich biodiversity of “Studen Kladenets” Reserve.
"Studen Kladenets" reserve has one of the largest herds of fallow deer in Europe. The visitors can spot here Griffon, Egyptian and Black vultures, Golden and Sea eagles, black storks, otters, cormorants and in the winter also pelicans. New Thracian Gold project works on the reintroduction of the red deer in the Eastern Rhodopes. In 2012 and 2013, 20- 30 red deer will be released in "Studen Kladenets". The observation hide offers the opportunity to nature lovers to observe and photograph the wildlife of the reserve.
“Studen Kladenets” reserve is a 7000 ha nature area located on the south bank of the damlake "Studen Kladenets". It was founded in 1973. Its size is approximately 7000 hectares and it is situated in the municipalities of Kardzhali, Krumovgrad and Momchilgrad.
