Bulgarians Get 6 Extended Holiday Breaks in 2012
Bulgaria's calendar for 2012 will include six extended breaks from work around several major holidays, the cabinet decided Wednesday, during its regularly scheduled Council of Ministers meeting. The extended holidays provide a perfect opportunity for tourist trips.
The firs one relates to Easter celebrations on April 15 – it begins on Good Friday, April 13, and lasts four days, including April 16.
The second four-day break is soon after that – for May 1, Labor Day, when April 28, 29, 30 and May 1 will be days off while April 30 (Monday) will be made up as work day on Saturday, April 21.
There will also be four days off around May 24, the Day of Slavic Script and Bulgarian Culture – May 24, 25, 26, and 27 with May 25th (Friday) being made up on May 19, Saturday.
Bulgaria's Unification Day, September 6, will be marked by a break from work on September 6, 7, 8, and 9 with September 7 (Friday) being made up on September 29 (Saturday).
There will be five days off for Christmas – December 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 and three days off for New Year's Eve – December 29, 30, and 31 (Monday) – the later will be made up on December 15 (Saturday).
