NTG at `Fiets en Wandelbeurs`

NTG experts Frank Zanderink and Johan Bekhuis and also our ARK colleague Yvonne Kemp presented the New Thracian Gold project and the Eastern Rhodopes at the ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’ (Hike and Bike fair) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (1-2 March 2014). This was the tenth edition of the fair.

‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’ is the national fair where thousands of bikers and hikers come to gather tourist information and plan their next year's holydays. At the NTG desk they could buy maps and guidebooks to the Eastern Rhodopes and get information about trips to the region.

Tens of thousands of people visited the the fair. Most of the visitors visited the NTG stand especially out of curiosity and with several questions: how hiking and biking in this region is organised, where to sleep, where to find more information etc. The NTG colleagues spoke with at least 100 people intensively.

The NTG team leader Frank Zanderink gave a 45 - minute lecture about the Rhodopi area focusing on its tourism potential. It was visited by about 20 people.
