Perperikon 2011 International Art Festival

 Monologue with a Suitcase performed by Bulgarian Gerasim Dishliev, a disciple of famous mime Marcel Marceau, is one of the highlights in the programme of the 11th  Perperikon Art Festival. The festival is scheduled to be held June 20 to 25. The opening is today in Dimitar Dimov City Theater in Kardzhali.

 

The programme includes two more theatre performances – the groups of Sfumato workshop and Theater Sofia and all types of arts.

 

The Afetuoso ensemble from Sofia will play Renaissance and Baroque music in the Museum of Kurdzhali. There will be  a photo and a ceramic exhibition in the lobby of the Dimitar Dimov Theatre in Kurdzhali. Two books by Bulgarian writers will be press-launched.

 

The festival will be closed in Perperikon, the sacred city of  the  ancient Thracians, on June 25 with a gala which will include re-enactment of a battle between Romans and Thracians.
