The First Two Griffon Vultures Hatched in the Eastern Rhodopes

The first Tto Griffon Vultures for 2013 hatched in the Eastern Rhodopes, NTG coordinator on wilderness Hristo Hristov informs.

The biggest in Bulgaria natural population of Griffon Vulture is in the Eastern Rhodopes: along the Arda River.

In February, the birdmonitoring showed a record high number of Griffon Vultures: 67 pairs in total were registered, 49 of which were incubating while the rest were building nest and courtship displaying. In comparison - the previous year 60 pairs were established, of which only 52 pairs incubating.
