NTG Works on Photo Hide in the Area of Ivaylovgrad
On March 5th, New Thracian Gold experts Hristo Hristov (biodiversity) and Michaela Kircheva (ecotourism) – together with farmer Todor Mitkov, a member of NTG network – toured in the area of Ivaylovgrad Municipality in search of the most suitable location for the construction of a photo hide for nature tourism.
A site near the village Kostilkovo has been chosen after several factors were taken into account, like openness of the terrain, easy access and entrance facility, etc., as Michaela Kircheva reports to NTG website. The photo hide shall be a wooden construction and will have appropriate insulation and a toilet. The area is good for vultures, foxes, jackals and Karakachan horses which all can be photographed in this area.
Michaela and Todor also found a suitable observation point where the horses can be observed drinking water. In the grazing area of the horses abandoned military trenches occur which could be turned into an interesting tourist attraction. These new plans will create the need of renting binoculars, bicycles, mobile hides, guided tours, etc., which will generate additional revenues into the local economy.
