Electric Fence on the Feeding Station in Madzharovo
On 20th and 21st October, the field staff and volunteers of the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) fenced by an electric fence the feeding station for Vultures in Madzharovo. The length of electric fences is approximately 700 m. The goal is to prevent the entry of dogs in the feeding station and the disturbance of the birds there and also to prevent the shedding of dead animals outside the fence by the dogs and stop the spreading of diseases.
Hristo Hristov, coordinator on wilderness in New Thracian Gold project (NTG) was among the participants in the action to whom BSPB expresses its gratitude for „the great help in installing the electric fence“.
The installation of the electric fence is financed by NTG in cooperation with the LIFE+ project "The Return of the Neophron".
