Cooking Day in the Netherlands Embassy
Today, Dutch chef Erik van Veluven and his colleagues from restaurant “Soul Kitchen” in Sofia, t will show in the Dutch embassy in Sofia their culinary skills in preparing delicious and healthy dishes with organic and local products from the Eastern Rhodopes.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Miroslav Naydenov, diplomats, Bulgarian chefs, representatives of NGO's in the field of sustainable agriculture, organic food producers, and fans of organic and healthy cuisine are among the invited guests. Producers of organic wine and organic grapes from the Eastern Rhodopes will be also present.
Martien Lankester, mediacal doctor and owner of one of the first organic restaurants in Amsterdam, dedicated his life to promoting organic food and agriculture will take part in the event.
The event is part of a three - day Cooking Days with organic and local products from the Eastern Rhodopes, organized by the Bulgarian-Dutch project “New Thracian Gold” with the support and participation of the Netherlands Embassy in Bulgaria and “Soul Kitchen” - Sofia.
On June 7, Thursday, Eric and his colleagues of “Soul Kitchen” showed their skills in “Red Café” in Sofia. The guests saw several presentations and tasted delicious dishes. The Culinary Guide of the Eastern Rhodopes was preseneted for firts time. Traditional recipes from the area have been collected, the book provides information how to prepare them with organic and local products.
The third and final day of the culinary event is in Saturday, June 9, at the guest house "Wild Farm" in the village of Gorno Pole, Municipality of Madzharovo.
