NTG at the International Exhibition “Cultural Tourism”
First time ever New Thracian Gold (NTG) participated in the International Tourism Exhibition "Cultural Tourism", which took place from 19 to 21 April in Veliko Tarnovo. A record high number of participants were presented – 50 Bulgarian municipalities and 21 countries from four continents.
NTG project was presented at the stand of the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism at their special invitation. Visitors to the exhibition showed a particular interest in the possibilities for travels in the Eastern Rhodopes, which combine visits to cultural sites with a touch to the wildlife and unique biodiversity of the area.
Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev and his Deputy Ivo Marinov talked with the representatives of the project during their tour at the exhibition.
The number of tourists who will visit Bulgaria in 2012 will increase eight percent, Minister Dobrev prognosticates. More than 15 countries from four continents presented their opportunities for tourism. It was the ninth edition of the exhibition which aims to popularize cultural tourism, events and landmarks around the world. According to the minister Russian tourists in Bulgaria this year will increase 20 percent due to the fact that Russians with Schengen visas can enter Bulgaria free.
Currently tourism in Bulgarian represents 15 percent of the GDP and it is the only sphere which continues to develop despite the crisis, Minister Dobrev said.
