Bulgaria – Attractive Destination for Adventure Tourism

Bulgaria is among the most attractive tourist destinations in the world for adventure tourism. Bulgaria is sixth among the now opening to the world market destinations in the ranking of US Adventure Travel Trade Association. According to the organization, Bulgaria has potential for year-round tourism and special attention is paid to the possibilities to practice alpinism in Bulgarian mountains in the summer and in the winter as well.

The Adventure Travel Trade Association advertises the bicycle routes, which total 1,200 km and adds that this country has many ancient monuments dating back to the Thracian and Roman period and is rich in cultural, historical and architectural sites.

The results of the ranking sum up the answers of 315 tour operators, hotel keepers and tourism experts. The countries covered by the survey are ranked on the basis of ten factors – among them sustainable development, security, healthcare, natural resources, cultural heritage and infrastructure, investor.bg reports.

Israel tops the list of the so-called emerging destinations, followed by Slovakia, Chile, Estonia and the Czech Republic. Slovenia, Jordan, Romania and Latvia are ahead of Bulgaria ranking among the first ten.
