Launch of TRANSRHODOPI, the newest tourist map to the Rhodopes

On 13 November, TRANSRHODOPI,– the latest tourist map to the Rhodopes, was launched in "Stenata" shop in Sofia. The map presents the most recent and updated information on biking and walking routes from the Trigrad to Ivaylovgrad.

The Long distance route for walking and biking was designed in two years by the “New Thracian Gold” in partnership with the “House of Books and Adventures”. The route starts from the Trigrad and flows eastward through Mugla, Stoikite, Pamporovo, Banite, Kardzhali lake,  the area around Studen Kladenets, Ivaylovgrad, Madzharovo and ends in Kardzhali. For the creation of the track, as well as new tracks were also used routes of “Bikearea”, Bulgarian Tourist Union, municipal trails. It is divided into 17 sections (days) of 11 to 53 km. The seventeen sections are called “the backbone” of the route. Except the backbone, there are also described the local circular routes. The marking of the trail is red - mostly red triangles with white, but there are sections that are marked with the tourist walking marking white - red - white.

The long distance route intersects with other long-distance routes - Rudopia of “Bikearea” and The Sultan’s trail, which are also present on the map.

The map contains information about local trails, accommodation places, peaks, elevation and contour lines, monuments, protected areas and panoramic points.

The map is produced by the team of New Thracian Gold and partners. It is printed in edition of 1000 Bulgarian and 500 English copies.

The map will be sold for BGN 4 until the end of November 2013 in the shops "Stenata" and in the online shop of New Thracian Gold. From 1 December 2013 on, the price is BGN 7 and the map will be available it in several bookstores: Helicon, Ciela, Bookpoint, Knizhitsi, sports equipment stores in Sofia, accommodation and information centers in the Eastern Rhodopes.
