The New Thracian Gold Project is supporting economic growth and welfare in the Eastern Rhodopes Mountains by developing activities which combine organic farming, nature conservation and tourism. This project is carried out by the Dutch nature conservation organisations Ark and Avalon and financially supported by the Dutch Post-code Lottery in the period of 2009- 2014.
New Thracian Gold was present at the Dutch Bird Fair, the largest nature event in the Netherlands. It took place on 24 and 25 August 2013 in the Oostvaardersplassen in Lelystad. See more
From 4 to 25 August, seven foreigners walked on the tourist route “Sultain's Trail” (Vienna – Istanbul). Part of it goes on the TransRhodopi, the long distance route made by New Thracian Gold. See more
In August, a new foal was born in the herd of the wild horses Tarpans in the Eastern Rhodopes. The newborn Nachko and his mother Nupta are doing very well. This is the third newborn this year in the Tarpan heard in the Eastern Rhodopes. See more
Recently, the first Fallow deer have been released from the temporary enclosure near the village of Tintyava in the Eastern Rhodopes. The released animals are doing well and started to explore the area around the enclosure and the water sources in the neighbourhood. See more
“The Wild World of the Eastern Rhodopes" photo expo is now in the Nature Park Belasitsa, Southwestern Bulgaria. You can see it in the Directorate of the Park (the village of Kolarovo, 14, Belasitsa Str.) every working day from 9 to 17,30 till September 15th. See more
Farmhopping – an online platform connecting conventional and organic farms directly with the consumers in the cities, provides to the organic and in conversion producers of the New Thracian Gold network in the Eastern Rhodopes a perfect opportunity for further developing theirs sales. See more
Young nature-lovers from Haskovo, Kardzhali and Burgas region took part in the Educational Nature Conservation Academy “Madzharovo 2013”at Nature Information and Conservation Center “Eastern Rhodopes” from 4 to 9 August 2013. See more
