NTG at workshop in Krumovgrad
Michaela Kircheva, coordinator in NTG for ecotourism will deliver a lecture on October 12, about the possibilities for creating new jobs through the development of alternative green economy in the context of the three-day workshop "The gold mining in Kroumovgrad - Problems and Solutions" (October 11 to 13). The workshop was organized by the "Friedrich Ebert" and Bulgarian Center for green economy. Kircheva will present the vision of NTG for small business development, nature-based, organic farming and ecotourism.

Round Table on the Tarpans with the Stakeholders in the Region of Krumovgrad
A round table meeting on the tarpans recently reintroduced in the area of village of Sbor is scheduled on November 28, Monday in Krumovgrad.
Purpose of the Tarpan Meeting:
- Informing the local stakeholders (authorities, farmers, hunters, business, NGO sector, etc.) on the Tarpans in the village of Sbor and on the Tarpan pilot current and future developments.
- Presenting the Dutch experience with the Tarpans and its importance for the biodiversity and tourism development in the region.
- Discussing the risks which the local stakeholders see in the future of the Tarpan pilot
- Discussing of joint (project and local people) ideas for the Tarpan pilot development; discussing the potential and the possibilities for tourism development in the region of Krumovgrad to which the tarpans could contribute
- Achieving on agreement for voluntary cooperation among the local stakeholders for the successful development of the Tarpan pilot. Establishing a working group
Program:
9.00 – 9.30 – Registration.
9.30 – 10.30 - Opening speeches (Frank Zanderink, NTG team leader and Krumovgrad Mayor Sebihan Mehmed (to be confirmed)). Presenting the tarpan pilot (Hristo Hristov, NTG wildlife coordinator and Anka Mladenova, local farmer and one the two people who are taking care of the tarpans). Presentations: Frank Zanderink on the Dutch experience with tarpans and Mihaela Kircheva, NTG ecotourism coordinator on the tourism possibilities in the region to which the tarpans could contribute.
10.30 – 11.15 - Q&A session. Discussion on problems and solutions; drafting plan for future join actions.
11.15-11,30 - Coffee break
11.30 - 12.30 – Second part of the discussion. Summarizing the discussion. Announcing the voluntary agreement on future cooperation on the tarpans. Establishing Tarpan working group.
12.30-13.30 - Lunch
Some of the tarpan round table meeting participants are also members of NTG FG. They will stay for lunch and for the annual meeting of the NTG FGM.
